Bone Church
This is a collection of 3D modeled pieces from a sample environment I made after visiting the Sedlec Ossuary in Kutna Hora, Czechia.
Also known as the Church of Bones, this Gothic church gained notoriety after artist Frantisek Rindt used the abundance of bones, accumulated from years of wars and plagues across Eastern Europe, and turned them into decor.
Even months after my visit, the macabre yet beautiful artwork stuck with me, and I decided to use it as inspiration for this fictional version. I wanted to capture the strange serenity that can be found in such a haunting space.

The bone chandelier that serves as both the main setpiece and primary light source of the bone church.

Another angle of the bone chandelier.

A sconce to help light the bone church.

An wooden piano to fill the bone church with haunting hymns.

A pew for the fictional patrons of the bone church.

A wooden piano bench for the fictional pianist of the bone church.

A black marble pillar decorated with human skulls and bones to decorate the church.

A white marble altar for the front of the church.

A close-up of the pillar of bones.
Please note, this project was created as a group assignment where I assembled the interior decor while my teammate designed the exterior. Unfortunately, at the end of the project images of the bone church’s exterior were lost.
